Dating in DC; A Religious Experience

In this It’s Just Lunch realty post I have tell you about just how upset Jill was. She was distraught by Jacks behavior on their first date, so distraught in fact that she left us a message on our IJL voicemail at 2am yesterday morning.

I am serious, she was up thinking about what Jack said to her. Here’s the back story…Jack and Jill went on a date in DC at Scion near Dupont Circle. They met for lunch and Jill told Jack she would be sitting in the glass enclosed area at Scion.

They started talking and things seemed great. They both share a love of tennis, the great outdoors and have a thing for Golden Retrievers (who knew!). Then the date took a turn for the worse. Jack made a derogatory comment, no make that several comments, about religious Catholics! Could you guess what religion Jill practices? Here’s a quick recap…

Now I know you are all rolling your eyes because you have heard this all too many times before. One of the first rules of dating is never, ever, ever bring up religion or politics on a first date! This rule applies ESPECIALLY if you are open to dating people that are of other faiths than yourself.

Jack’s comments (more than one) ended up not only ruining a good potential match, but definitely ended up ruining Jill’s day to the point where she was still thinking about it at 2am! She called us very upset. This happens often, when dates are rude to one another and clients believe their behavior is our fault or responsibility. I implore you, please take our advise and your dating life will be that much more successful.
