Dating Lessons from PUA and the Virgin

On the first episode of VH1′s Why Am I Still Single? Siggy Flicker coaches two daters of the opposite sex that have more in common than they would care to believe. Meet Rich, the wanna be PUA and Kate, the virgin. What these two think is serious game, turns out to be seriously lame.

Kate is a sweet and awkward girl who can best be described as innocent and a bit immature. She is, in fact, a virgin. Siggy paires her up with Rich, Mr. Slickster who pulls out all of the cheesy lines from some dime store “How To Pick Up Women” self-help book. Besides the obvious humor in the situation, what Your Dating Diva finds particularly intriguing is the commonalities these two share. Rich is trying to impress and pull out all of the stops, he leads with his game. Spewing overused movie phrases like “You had me at hello!” and trying to speak different languages is some serious pseudo game guys! Listen to Your Dating Diva when she tells you, this is NOT impressive. By the way Rich, the expression is “Quelle Dommage”…

Once Katie feels that her date is not impressed with her, she pulls out her V-Card. Announcing to Rich out of nowhere that she is a virgin is just as desperate of a move as Rich’s cheap PUA, or Pick Up Artist, lines. Although these two seem like complete opposites, their protective behavior of leading with game instead of their true selves are one and the same. How To Flirt With Flowers; What Your Flower Choice is Saying About You

Well gents, it looks like it’s time for your date with that woman you just spent an hour primping for. Your hair is perfectly messed up, your facial hair has been manscaped, brushed, or shaved off completely, and you smell like a walking J.C. Penney’s cologne section. You are now ready for your date, but you are missing one critical element: flowers. But What types of flowers are best for which situation? YourDatingDiva will teach you exactly how to flirt with flowers, the right way!

Flowers say a lot about who you are and your interest in the woman you are going out with. If you show up to her door with a single flower, she will react much differently than she would if you showed up with 12 dozen. The flowers that you bring her say a good deal about you, and you should ensure that you pick just the right flower when going out on a date. Here are some tips to help you understand what your flower choice says about your intentions, and which flowers will help you get your girl:

1) The Red Rose: The red rose is the color that has long been associated with romance, though love is often inferred from too many red roses. If you want to bring her a flower, and you aren’t sure what she likes, it is hard to go wrong by bringing her a single red rose.

2) White Roses: If you are going to see a woman for whom you have more friendly feelings than romantic ones, a white rose will let her know how you feel. White roses signify innocence and purity, and will be a great, “let’s just be friends” flower.

3) Black Roses: Unless your date is a hardcore Goth, a black rose will signify a cruel goodbye. This may, however, be a good choice for any woman who has a dark side, as bringing her a black rose will show her how much you like the unique aspects of her personality.

4) Pink Roses: Pink roses are great for budding romances, though they usually indicate that the person receiving the rose is still a bit of a child. Pink is usually an excellent choice for most girly girls, and a mature woman may take a pink rose as a subtle (unintentional of course) insult that you think she is getting older.

5) Daffodils: Daffodils make a unique gift for a woman, and it lets her know that she is the only one for you. If you aren’t interested in being exclusive with the women to whom you are presenting the flower, you may find that a red rose will be a better choice than this flower that indicates exclusivity.

6) Daisies: Be careful of bringing a daisy to her door, unless she has specifically told you those are her favorite flowers. Daisies scream “CHEAP!!!” to any woman receiving them, so make sure that your lady actually likes them before you purchase one.

7) Lilies: Lilies smell heavenly, and they infer to a woman that you think she is an angel. Lilies have the pure color of white, but they are much more sensual than a white rose. But caution, lilies are also a funeral flower and a great Easter gift for your aunt who has invited you over for Sunday dinner.

8 ) Tiger Lilies: Now, Tiger lilies are a great way to stand out from the rest of the gents, as tiger lilies combine a beautiful scent with a unique style. Bringing her a tiger lily shows that you are a unique guy who is not like the rest of the jerks she has dated.

9) Tulips: A tulip is another unique flower that most women will appreciate. Tulips are unconventional in their beauty, and they are often harder to come by than a dozen roses. If you want to stand out from the rest of the guys in her life that have given her roses, try bringing her a tulip.

10) Hyacinth: If you did something to seriously jeopardize your relationship with the other person, a hyacinth is the perfect way to succinctly say, “Sorry that I screwed up”, or, more often than not, “I have absolutely no idea what I did wrong, but you’re scowling at me so I must have screwed up somehow”.

Make sure that you choose your flower carefully. Of course if you are just getting to know her remember…roses are best for blind dates, but try to be more imaginative when going out with a girl you are familiar with. A woman, above all, wants to know that you “get” her, its a major aphrodisiac. Because of this, there is nothing better than a bouquet of flowers that let’s her know just how well you know her taste as a woman. Is she into the exotic tropicals, or is she more of an English garden shabby chic kind? Think of a flower that captures her beauty, and you actually have a chance of impressing the girl with your thoughtful behavior. A surprising number of men are startled when their ploy of bringing a rose fails, but that is because hundreds of men bring the single red rose. Be unique, and you may have a chance of getting lucky.
